Tips for small business Facebook marketing

Facebook has more than 500 million registered members, which is a substantial audience of prospective buyers. The social network is also a relatively cost-efficent marketing platform, making it the ideal promotional tool for small business owners.

As All Facebook recently observed, though, small business owners need to manage their expectations when they use the social network for marketing. Just because it gives them access to a huge pull of potential customers, that doesn't mean they are going to be generating millions of sales right off the bat.

"Set realistic goals for your approach to social media and you won’t be disappointed. Don’t expect to get thousands of fans within your first month, but think more along the lines of a two or three digit number," suggests All Facebook. "Then if you hit something larger than you originally anticipated, you’ll be pleasantly surprised and that will give you momentum."

Western Capital Consultants recently suggested that small business owners should take advantage of the greater access to commercial loans to ramp up their marketing tactics, and Facebook can be the best platform to do just that.
