Small company owners gather for business summit

SCORE Miami-Dade, an organization that provides advice for small companies, and Constant Contact, an email marketing service provider, have joined forces to hold a summit for small business owners in Florida on Saturday, the Miami Herald reports.

Althea Harris, the assistant marketing director of the Small Business Administration of South Florida, will be in attendance and will answer any questions that small business owners may have regarding the organization's policies. Additionally, there will be several panels pertaining to the value of email marketing, headed by a Constant Contact representative.

"The free all-day event will feature a morning program dedicated to finding funding resources for your business and learning how to sell your proposal to a lender. The presenters will discuss all the critical steps to qualifying for a loan, including cleaning up your credit," explains the Herald. "SCORE Miami-Dade counselors will also provide an insider’s look into the loan process."

With Office Depot reporting that more than 70 percent of small business owners believe small business lending will be their biggest challenge in 2011, entrepreneurs in the Florida area may benefit from attending this summit.
