Small business owners may be missing out on leads due to web inactivity

More than 200 million Americans are connected to the web, according to comScore, and many of them use the communication channel to research products and companies. According to web design firm SiteKreator, many small businesses are missing out on potential sales because they are not embracing the platform.

The organization observed that more than half of small businesses (54 percent) update their websites less than once a month. This is significant, as SiteKreator also observed that as few as five updates over the course of a month can increase web traffic by as much as 300 percent.

"We see it over and over again, small businesses who are either disengaged online or not online at all, do not grow at the same rates as those who have invested in an online presence," says Ivaylo Lenkov, founder and CEO of SiteKreator.

Now that entrepreneurs have greater access to commercial loans, they may want to consider investing more in their marketing campaigns. This will help them improve sales, which many experts agree is a leading challenge for small companies.
