Small business hiring is on the turnaround

During the recession, one of the first things that many entrepreneurs cut in an effort to reduce expenses was employees. Now that the economy is on the rebound, small business owners are looking to fill those positions.
HireClix, a recruitment marketing firm, told The Street that businesses in the information technology, defense contracting, software development, medical device, healthcare, retail and media fields are leading the hiring trend.
"People are clearly looking for ways to innovate and connect with the right candidates," Neil Costa, founder of HireClix, told the website. "This is a big change from what we saw at the tail end of last year. People were exploring new recruitment marketing options and gathering information, but there seems to be a greater sense of urgency."
Several other recent surveys lend further credence to Clix's findings. The private sector added nearly 200,000 new jobs to the market in January, a significant amount more than the six-month average of just over 50,000, according to the ADP National Employment Report.
