SBA supports small business exporting with new tool

The U.S. Small Business Administration has launched a new tool for companies looking to expand their markets internationally. Called The Export Business Planner, the tool is designed to help small businesses prepare for global operations.

The free planner is available as a downloadable .PDF file that can be acquired from the SBA website. It sets a six-step framework for small business owners and helps them do everything from creating export plans and to conducting global research.

"Creating jobs through exporting is one of the nation’s top economic priorities, as the president indicated when he launched the National Export Initiative,” said SBA Administrator Karen Mills. "Giving exporters the tools to do their part in this effort is essential."

Many small business owners have benefited from exporting because some other countries have thriving economies compared to the United States. However, some entrepreneurs feel apprehensive about the idea of exporting - the new SBA guide should help them feel more prepared.
