Nevada's top SBA lender named

Las Vegas, Nevada-based Meadows Bank recently announced that it received the honor as the top SBA 7(a) lender in the state for the 2011 fiscal year.

The U.S. Small Business Administration granted Meadows - which also has offices in Utah, Arizona, Colorado and California - with the distinction after determining it led all other state community banks in terms of loans measured by dollar volume.

"Being named the top dollar volume SBA 7(a) lender in Nevada is a result of our commitment to the Nevada market," said Calvin Regan, senior vice president and manager of the SBA Department. "While many other banks have stopped lending in Nevada or severely limited their lending in the state, Meadows Bank sought out qualified small businesses in need of SBA financing to expand or aid their business."

Regan added that funds provided by Meadows and the SBA have resulted in hundreds of jobs being created or retained.

Less than two months ago, Meadows provided SBA loans totaling more than $5.6 million to four Utah businesses. One of which, the Utah Veterinarian Center, was able to create 60 new jobs with the increased funds.
