Gas station constructed as component of South Berlin village

A recently completed Shell gas station and convenience store in South Berlin, Massachusetts, is the first piece of a multi-million dollar mixed-use village intended to lure empty-nesters and couples buying their first homes, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reports.
The Riverbridge Shell is part of a larger project headed by brothers Matthew and Christopher Senie of family-owned business Riverbridge North.
The pair received gas station financing thanks to a 10-year loan from state officials and financial assistance from the Worcester Business Development Corporation, which saved them approximately $500,000.
"This is the finest gas station in the state," Christopher Senie told the news source. The facility is constructed to look like a barn in order to match South Berlin's character.
According to the Riverbridge North website, the Shell will be owned and operated by Nouria Energy Corporation of Worcester. It will be the only gas station for several miles in any direction, and will also house a Dunkin' Donuts.
Construction for a second building in the projected $70 million, 130,000 square-foot village is expected to begin in the fall, the Telegram reports.
