Flexibility is key to starting a successful business

Starting a new business can be a demanding proposition and entrepreneurs need to be able to react well to adversity to succeed. As Inc. magazine recently observed, flexibility is one of top skills that entrepreneurs need to possess if they want to get their new company up and running.
Flexibility enables entrepreneurs to launch a business without overextending themselves. For example, a business owner may want to consider hiring a subcontractor rather than full-time employees to conserve money. Or they could set up a home office until they have commercial loans for a physical location.
"All of this bootstrapping allows you to get your business off the ground on a shoestring budget and enables you to stay in business," explains the source. "In fact, without an ability to remain flexible, most businesses would never get beyond their first year of operation."
With greater access to funding, starting a business is easier now than it has been over the past few years. The extra resources enable entrepreneurs to be even more flexible and allow them to take risks to position their companies for success.
