Apple to announce new tech support service for SMBs

While many in the graphic design industry use Apple products, the majority of small business owners tend to stick with Microsoft offerings. Now, Apple may be trying to cater more toward these individuals with a new enterprise service plan called Joint Venture, AppleInsider reports.

On Sunday, sources close to the matter told AppleInsider that the consumer electronics company will launch the comprehensive package at a base price point of $500 per year. Joint Venture will give participating SMBs access to priority service at Apple retail outlets, a special technical support line, group training sessions and loaner MacBook Pros if repairs will take more than 24 hours.

Apple is expected to launch the new service on March 2 in the United States. While the plan will cover up to five systems per business by default, companies will be able to add additional systems to their service plans for an extra $99 per year.

With small business owners gaining more access to commercial loans, many are investing in new technology and equipment. Service plans, such as Apple's Joint Venture, can help entrepreneurs protect their investments.
