Accurate product descriptions can lift sales

Most small businesses nowadays operate a website that details their products and services. However, what many companies don’t know is that written product and service descriptions can have a huge impact on sales. As the American Express OPEN Forum recently noted, keyword-rich product descriptions can improve search rankings, which in turn can drive more traffic to a small business' website.
A Meta tag on a website will determine what information search engines will show on the results page. Having a descriptive and keyword-rich Meta tag will not only provide potential customers with more information about a company before they click on a link, it will also boost the business’ presence on the search engine landing page.
"[Meta tags] are extremely important [because, when searching] people scan through them quickly and click on the one that looks the best," Zeke Camusio, founder of The Outsourcing Company, an internet marketing agency, told the source.
With small business lending slowly improving, now may be the opportune time for companies to take another look at their websites. With more consumers using the web as a research tool, having a well-optimized website is critical to generating more sales.
